Across New Hampshire, dangerous gaps in waste management and environmental regulations are placing our most essential resources at risk. Outdated rules, weak oversight, lack of funding, and loopholes designed for a different era no longer reflect the scale, complexity, or cumulative impact of modern industrial waste practices. The result is a growing threat to our drinking water, our air quality and climate, our ecosystems, and ultimately, our public health.

These risks are not abstract. When protections fall short, contamination travels through groundwater, across watersheds, into homes, schools, farms, and wildlife habitats. Once compromised, clean water is extraordinarily difficult and costly to restore. Air pollution does not respect town lines. And environmental harm, left unaddressed, compounds over time, quietly shifting from “potential” to irreversible.

North Country Alliance for Balanced Change (NCABC) exists to confront these challenges with clarity, integrity, and resolve. We advocate for stronger environmental safeguards, science-based policy, and responsible land-use decisions that honor both community well-being and the natural systems that sustain life in the North Country and statewide. Balanced change means not sacrificing health or heritage for short-term gain; it means ensuring that economic activity proceeds without undermining clean water, breathable air, and the rights of future generations.
